TLA is the annual conference of the Texas Library Association and overflows with workshops, author talks, vendor exhibits and more. There were excited librarian everywhere!
A few of the things I learned at TLA...
- Lots of ideas for great new books to buy for our library collection
- Way to use readers theater in the library
- How to host a summer library book camp
- Ways to bring books to life during story time with songs and puppetry
- How graphic novels engage young readers
- Insight from authors into the writing process and how/why they write for children
- Reading program ideas (look for Readopoly in the fall)
- New 2x2 books and ideas for using the program in the library
- And LOTS more
I'm already excited for TLA 2011 - Austin here I come!
